Never saw the kid, without his helmet, until tonight... came across him by accident.
I do not recall ever forming a mental image of what Spruce might look like, don't think I did... yet when I saw his photo this evening it surprised me. But I think I should have expected what I saw by watching him play because:
He reminded me of Don Maynard, and Freddie Biletnikoff and lo and behold he has that 'look'. Doesn't look "like" them, exactly... nor did Freddie and Don look 'like' each other... but they have a certain 'look'. I hadn't thought about it but when I saw him I guess I was expecting the clean cut college Frat type... if there is such a thing. Think "Hollywood College Frat". Instead I got a guy who probably has 'noodling' as his favorite hobby and passion. - JamesJM
