Had lower back surgery about 19 years ago and has been miserable ever since. I will say, hers involved rods and screws inserted and a large "T" shaped cut on her back. Since then, she has developed arthritis, scoliosis, osteoporosis AND two bulging disks. She told me 9 years ago, she wanted to be euthanized. She was serious. Which leads me to this.......She had PISS POOR....I MEAN CRAP for post op rehab.....CRAP!! Over the years, I have worked with 3 other guys who had major back surgery and all three said the rehab was MUCH worse than the pain that made them have surgery. One said a therapist bent and contorted him in ways he couldn't when he was a small child. Two of those 3 guys were just fine. The other had other unrelated problems that still gave him fits.
So remember............GOOD REHAB is HUUUUUUUUUUUGE!
