and perhaps I'm seeing things through a veil of nostalgia, our coverage was once that way... or much closer anyway. Today we get a few in depth profiles of other athletes that I like, and I'm sure they ARE legit, but they seem so 'manipulative'.

I agree with you. But I think it's been that way for some time now... and I want to say it was when NBC won the rights... but I could be wrong about that. - JamesJM
