the majority of the time we use it for spur of the moment get-a-ways.. on a Friday night, "hey, let's go to Half Moon Bay" 2 hours later our toes are in the sand... it's great to have it fully contained turn-key ready to go.
it's a small RV (22') but fits in my driveway......we also use it for my kid's tournament play... it's nice to have a place to kick back and relax in between games during those long weekend tournaments....
when we eventually retire, the plan is to get a bigger one.....I might go the trailer route too....no need to smog it nor the cost of another motor vehicle (engine, tranny, alignment etc) to maintain... ..... but the nice thing about the RV is you can tow a boat or toy.....with a trailer you can't.....
camping is great... off to Shasta next week... supposed to be 105 up there....the majority of the time we'll be in the water....thankfully for El Nino, the lakes are full of water this year.... we haven't been up to the lake in the past 3 years, as we've mainly been going to the delta.
