Fun stuff.....
we were avid tent campers, until 2007 when we bought a used 1995 C Class RV and we love it.... thus my days of sleeping on the ground are very few..... Once in a while I'll do some tent fishing trips with my son, but as a family it was the RV. great therapy. I hope to park it at the LA Memorial Colussium for a Ram game this fall..
even though we mainly camp in the RV, we still make it a priority to have a campfire and keep to the outdoors as much as possible. The great thing about the RV is you can take it for quick trips to the beach, hills, or where-ever since it's fully stocked, not much planning is required. my favorite trip was a drive up to Portland via the Oregon coast... I need do that again once I replace my tires,... 6 RV tires will set me back $1K.
Drones, I too want a DJI.... ...This past Christmas I bought a quad copter for my son, then like SST, I got an extra one for myself... they are a blast to fly.
Battery life on these low cost drones are a dismal 6 min, thus we bought a dozen batteries and extra charge station to make it worthwhile.
Someday soon, I will buy the DJI. DJI has a program where if you buy direct, you can schedule a DJI tech to come to your house, unpack your new drone, and the tech will show you how to use it.
My current quad copter is a toy, but very cool.. .... you're basically grounded when it's windy, whereas a DJI can easily fly in the wind... a very cool device. Last week my son was surfing at Santa Cruz and some guy had a DJI that was handling the wind with ease..
