hit the High Sierras.. If that's your bucket list biggie, you gotta do it.. and do it now while you can.. I hit my biggest bucket list item - Bora Bora - twice.. but, I still haven't been able to do it the way I want to.. This time because it rained 12 out of 14 days.. So, I see a trip back sometime soon while I'm still young enough to dive an enjoy it..
I get you on the camping thing.. People now bringing WAY too much technology on a freakin' camping trip.. And, yes, we were walking on the wooden walkways to our over water bungalow in Bora Bora two months ago and I heard a freakin' drone overhead.. I couldn't believe it... Amazingly, we became friends with the people who owned it - didn't know they were the owners until the day we left.. Anyways, they posted the footage on Facebook and it is AMAZING.. I was shocked.. but, at the same time, I don't want that crap on a beach that was once special because of its remoteness and lack of human interference..
I want to get AWAY from humanity when I go to the beach.. I imagine you're the same way.. But, I also get that camping should be somewhat "primitive"... campfire, sleeping bag, franks, beans, marshmallows and no much else... Its sad that its getting harder and harder to find those special places now - beaches or camp sites.. the ones NOT infested with humanity and technology.
Go do the High Sierras, Jimmy.. Enjoy every second of it and mark it off the list... Or, go back again and again.. My bucket list sorta evolved like that once I actually got to that special place..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
