PCT is closed?

That's the Pacific Crest Trail... I haven't confirmed that but I'm reading it on social media.
Seems a bit odd to me... since I can't think of a safer place to be at this time. Without quesiton the PCT, or nearby, is where I'm headed when the apocalypse comes, closed or not.
