Most of them are very pleasant, but 1 is the worst of the worst...the Bradford Pear Tree. In our neck of the woods this tree is for some unknown reason is chosen by many to use as a landscaping type tree in their yards. Our neighbors have them on either side of us. went to my Mom's and of course she has one.....Visually they are very nice with the white blossoms, but the stench emitted by them is no where close to a nice dream of springtime senses. They don't even bare fruit to offset the springtime smell, but come to think of it I don't want to imagine what the odor of a ripe Bradford Pear would be like....
I can be thankful that none are planted in the vicinity of our backyard....it would ruin the sounds of our pond and fountain, the sounds of the 2 woodpeckers in the wooded area, the screech of our neighborhood hawk and assorted song birds with the wafting odors of those damn Bradford Pear trees. Instead they line the front lawns of too many people around here.
