Actually I didn't get the call, my grandson did. And I'm not sure it was Pankey himself or not. COS is a JC in Visalia, Ca.... Irv is their head coach.
All I know is what my daughter told me, "The coach from COS called Mason last night"... my guess that it was either their WR or DB coach.... but it 'might' have been Pankey, and if so....WOW.
I haven't spoken with my grandson about it yet.... no chance he knows who Irv Pankey is.
Not bad... later this month he'll be coached by Ricky Proehl in the Blue/Grey game.... and who knows? Maybe coached by none other than Irv himself come this fall. - JamesJM
