I think I'd like to see a top 7 yards per rush Ave allowed and a top 5 def 3 Rd down percentage allowed.
Next would be top 10 turnover gained.
If they achieve those 3 stats in the top quarter of league our D would be going a long ways towards playoff football even if we allowed some garbage passing yards.
