There seems to be some people talking about the "team logo" and some talking the "Helmet design". The Rams have had almost a dozen team logos from variations of a Rams head to different fonts. They've changed colors, they've had St Louis Arches, they used a simple helmet picture for much of the 80's, they've put a curled horn on the "R". No doubt there are more.
As far as we know, there is no change to our helmet design. (Though I think we all fear what's coming) The team logo? So what? It's purely there for merchandising. Don't buy the T-shirt, or hat, or bumper sticker or get the tattoo. Buy the retro design, they'll still be there. If it doesn't sell, the team will drop it. This logo is still better than the boring picture of a helmet they used during the 80's.
In regard to the helmet design, there seems to be some misinformation about what teams have changed their design. A quick google shows the Cowboys went from a blue star to an outlined star. The Chargers from a yellow bolt to a white bolt. Seahawks have has 3 different helmet birds. The Vikings have been tweaking their horns for years so now their horns practically touch at the rear of the helmet. Broncos have been through 3 helmet designs, Redskins 5. Only a very small handful of teams retain their original helmet logo from day 1. Hopefully we remain one of those.
