1) No one is giving 2 #1s for Kupp if they did the Rams would be fools not to jump all over that

2) Cooks - I disagree here slightly regarding how easy it is to replace Cooks. Has a receiver ever put together the string on 4 years that he has? You can't just draft a guy to replace that... if they could then they don't trade for him IMO. Some refer to him as a one trick pony. While I don't agree with that he is similar to Tyrek Hill (obviously not as good) and Desean Jackson (a much better comparison) in terms of being so good at what he does well that defenses have to account for him.

3) Cook's role in McVay's offense is critical... until McVay changes and becomes more varied which we may have towards the end of last year.

but its less about the who (Woods or Kupp) than the compensation

I think Woods is better and does more. I think Kupp could get more because of his rookie contract and youth

If the discussion is starting at a 1 and 3rd for either then I'm listening

Re Cooks - The only issue I have with Cooks is his concussion history. He does something that neither Cooks or Woods can do. In the right offense he could be devastating.

Imagine putting Cooks on Green Bay with Rodgers and pairing him with Adams... IMO the thing that works against Cooks his those concussions and his bloated salary.

I agree that it's about the compensation and Kupp could get more for the reasons you stated. I just don't see a 1st and 3rd worth it for him. Ramsey costs two 1sts and a 4th. If someone was to give two 1st round picks for Kupp, then I do it.

But as I stated, I lean more towards retaining Kupp and Woods and letting Cooks go precisely because of the concussions and the bloated salary. He does have a special role in the offense that McVay clearly needs but that skillset isn't close to irreplaceable. I'm certain they could draft someone this year or next that replaces the deep threat skillset.

No really much disagreement here.

On #1... I don't expect someone to give two 1st for Kupp either. It's just a way of saying I'm not that interested in trading him. Bottom line for me is, I'd need more than a 1 and 3. If pressed, I'd probably pull the trigger at a 1st and 2nd too.

On #2... I'd agree if we were talking about the Cooks that we traded for. But given the concussions things have changed. I question his long term reliability now. So IMO that clearly makes him the player to replace. I'd start drafting for that now. I'm not saying that he'd be easy to replace but the deep threat skillset - which is what McVay needs - isn't terribly difficult to replace. It doesn't have to be a guy the equivalent of Cooks since we have two great other WRs. It's just needs to be a guy who can credibly take the top of the defense off.

On #3... agreed.
