No one is going to ask Peters to shut down one half of the field the way Ramsey can.
I think we just see this one differently. I think they realized that Peters wasn't a scheme fit.
I also don't see Ramsey as a much better CB. While he can shut down one side of the field, he is not nearly the playmaker that Peters is. A few years ago Snead and Wade were talking up the playmaking aspect. What changed? Wade's scheme calls for a different type of CB than what Peters is so they weren't getting the man coverage element or the playmaking.
Even if Ramsey is marginally better, Spags has a very good point. He's not two 1st round draft picks better. Shortsighted!
The reality is, they traded Peters b/c they didn't want to extend him. They weren't willing to extend him b/c Wade didn't like him....again scheme. They should have thought a bit into the future and asked themselves, "are we committing to Wade and his scheme?"
