I'm with you. But what's interesting this year is that player who falls actually might be an OLB or ILB.
The OLB in particular are loaded. So it would not surprise me to see us go that route. ILB there's a couple guys I'm sure the Rams would jump on if they're there. Baun should be on the board, but the concern with him is whether he's more of what we have, i.e. a mediocre talent who can eat snaps, but if the Rams take him he will be an ILB for us I think.
Right now my thought process is OT > OLB > ILB in the second round in terms of likelihood of high quality "falling" there and desire by the Rams to draft it.
The Rams priority list might well align with yours, Merlin.
Then again, C, NT, or DE could be what they most feel like would help them. I dunno.
All they can do is predict who might fall to them in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and fill in with 2nd tier FA’s around them. A 3-dimensional chess strategy kinda thing.
Gonna be very interesting to watch, that’s for sure.
