Didn't exactly shut him down.
Sometimes it takes all game for it to add up.
They got to him early, and then steadily after that, and by the end he was showing it.
Same thing happened to Brees in the 2013 game, the one where Quinn got the strip sack and recovery. By the end of that game Brees was seeing ghosts too.
Anyway 44 points is less than 55
