I think the best option it to try to resign Whit at something closer to $7M for one year. Noteboom would be the backup and if he beats Whit out in training camp, more power to him.
They need to head into the draft without an acute need. They tend to draft much better when that happens.
So, dz, is $7 million your line in he sand?

I'm not good with lines in the sand, 43. You ask me that every year and I never can say I'm that firm on it. LOL.
But for Whit, I need to be in that range to fit other stuff that needs to happen. $10M seems too high so I wouldn't be inclined to go that high. But if he wouldn't sign unless he got $8M or a bit more but was agreeable to a one year contract, I'd have to do that because bringing him back for one more year is by far the best option IMO.
