Tommy Maddox changed his whole career and legacy from his XFL stint. Maybe there is another story of that type this time around.

The XFL's two-day draft kicked off on Tuesday, where eight teams will select their rosters from a pool of over 1,000 players. Quarterbacks were assigned to each team, and position players were among those drafted first at the event.

XFL players become full-time employees on Dec. 4, 2019. If they remain on a team's roster, they will stay employed through May 31, 2020. The new league said players can leave to accept an NFL contract after the XFL's championship game on April 25.

Notable quarterbacks assigned to teams include Landry Jones, Cardale Jones and Matt McGloin.

Landry Jones heads to the Dallas Renegades, where he'll reunite with his former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops. Jones played for six years in the NFL as a backup quarterback with the Steelers, Jaguars and Raiders.

Former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones joins the DC Defenders after three years in the NFL. Jones led the Buckeyes to the 2014 national championship before entering the NFL. The Bills selected him in the fourth round of the 2016 draft and he later moved to the Chargers and Seahawks' practice squads.

The New York Guardians have former Penn State signal-caller Matt McGloin, who spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Raiders before joining the Eagles, Texans and Chiefs.
