they improved, but I think they are a long way from being above average. Wouldn't you love to have a physical, nasty line shoving defenses around and wearing them out like a Tenn? We couldn't be further from that. Im skeptical we will be able afford a good free agent. Especially with Littleton, Ramsey & Fowler as free agents and Kupp and co waiting in the wings to cash in.
We're on the same page as far as the quality of the current OL.
I also agree with you that we need an above-average OL. I've been arguing since mid-season when I discovered that objective data shows that Goff is horrible under pressure (and that only confirms what our eyes tell us), that the Rams can't afford NOT to have a top OL like they did in 2017. Without that, I fear we're wasting our QB who is really good when things around him are in order. Where we disagree is that it requires a 1st round draft pick.
IMO, they must prioritize the OL above everything else. Which means other than Ramsey and Kupp, the rest of the names you mention likely walk. I'm already on record as saying that I believe Littleton and Fowler are gone. I think instead of retaining them, they find a way to get a really good vet in the interior OL. A Scherff or Thuney.
I believe the defense survives without Littleton or Fowler. The offense OTOH clearly can't survive or be a top offense without a dominating OL.
