has to be McVay's play calling as well as improved play from the Oline as it continued to gel as it stabilized and gained game experience together.
McVay got a little more conservative and focused on at least having the threat of a running game running alot of 12 personnel. He also ran many more shorter routes allowing Goff to get rid of the ball quicker. Having said all of this, I'm not sure what McVay was doing in the Cowboy game.
In hindsight, McVay seemed slow to adjust coming out of the gate. Combining that with an inexperienced Oline that was struggling, that was a recipe for Goff to struggle and for the offense to be ineffective.
I'm a big McVay fan, but I have to admit that I was very surprised that he seemed so slow to adjust following the offense's super bowl performance.
This was year 4 for Higbee. Yet it took offensive struggles, Everett's struggles, and more than half a difficult season for McVay and the Rams to start featuring him.
