If we finish 10-6 and you assume we are 1-1 against SF & Seattle and 2-0 against Dallas and AZ, then I wouldn't consider it a successful year.
That would mean of our 10 victories only 3 (NO, Dallas, and the SF/Seattle) victories would come against teams with winning records (Dallas may or not meet that requirement). And the NO victory was the first game after losing Brees so there is a caveat to that win.
Other than NO, the 6 teams we have beaten to date have a total of 25 wins or just over 4 wins a piece. Three of the teams we lost to are 10-2 right now so I can accept that we lost to them. But we also lost to 5-7 TB and 7-5 Pitt.
To me, we have beat bottom tier teams (3-0), did OK against mid tier teams (3-2) and lost to elite teams (1-3). Which makes us a mid-Tier team as of now. That's not success in my eyes, with or without injuries.
Win out and that makes us 4-0 against bottom tier, 3-3 against mid-tier and 4-3 against elite. That would be success.
