First off, I was at the opening day loss to the Raiders in 1979. We were behind the goal posts on the end opposite the torch. I witnessed at least 10 fights break out between the Raider and Ram fans. One was particularly brutal.
As for those two teams, neither were playing good football until the end of the year. My original point is to win out and demonstrate that we are playing good football rather than squeaking in with one loss compared to two for Minnesota. I know some are happy just to get into the playoffs because anything can happen. I just don't feel good about how this team has played and prefer to have them demonstrate that are playing good football like those two teams did.
