Well, we need to see how these OL youngsters perform against some tough teams in these final 4 games, and possibly even in a playoff game or two, of course.
But as of right now? I’m cautiously optimistic about the guys we’re starting right now, plus the anticipated Boom at LOT next year. I’m serious.
IOW, I’m not currently seeing the need for a Scherff type FA next year. Much rather see highest FA and draft resources devoted to DL or Edge, OL should receive some more depth, same for CB, RB, and S, I suppose.
I will say this. The current OL starters will sort this out for us with their play in these final 4 games. By January the OL strategy will be much more clear. I’m just giving my December 4th snapshot opinion here. Lol.
We may not need OL reinforcements 43 but I'm no longer willing to take risks with not having a top performing OL. I see some limitations in the QB and given those, if I were in charge, I'd ensure a great OL.
NB's injury is an uncertainty. Corbett is iffy at LG. Edwards may need to be moved to LOT putting RG in flux.
It currently looks to me like we have one solid Guard and Center for 2020 in Edwards. Blythe is looking decent at center but he's a free agent and we may lose him. It would help if he's the answer at center and they bring him back.
My concerns about Scherff, or any expensive vet FA for our OL are strictly about the cap impact, dz.
I’m hoping that we come out of this offseason with a bolstered DL and an edge player to replace the probably departed Fowler. A bigger couple of offseason needs to me.
