We hear a lot of our pending cap woes in 2020, but in 2021 I think they can start to move on from overpaid guys like Higbee, Havenstein, Gurley, maybe even Cooks without the punishing cap hits. I'm sure some on here have a better handle on things, but I was under the impression that next year was problematic but 2021 we should have a lot of flexibility. Maybe some of the pending contract extensions next year can be weighted with that in mind?
They could move on now from some contracts - Hav, Higbee, and Gurley - via trade and get cap savings. $4.65M for Gurley, $5.4M for Hav, and $6.225M for Higbee. Cutting them however would hit the cap hard. But after next year they can move on from all of them with cuts.
