I don't think there's an actual yes or no answer to the question. More running and more featuring of Gurley I agree should continue. But ground and pound as a rule, not really.

Just as teams eventually loaded up to stymie the Rams pass-heavy, predictable play calling they would do the same if the Rams tried to emulate the Hogs. IMO, it's all about predictability and flexibility. I guess there isn't an easy answer since I also feel like a truly great offense is going to dictate to defenses rather than taking what is given but I don't think the Rams can just run whenever they want to run as a rule.

They should continue to attempt the running game though. If they intentionally take Gurley out of the equation they are outsmarting themselves and doing the other team's job for them.

That's what's so hard to understand about some of these Rams struggles. How can you not see that choosing to take Gurley out of the equation is exactly what the defense is hoping for?
