There is no evidence that Evans is a huge question mark given that they are on record as saying that their strategy was to draft Olinemen and let them develop for a year. The fact he hasn't played much means literally nothing.

The plan wasn't even for Edwards to be pressed into immediate duty. That only happened due to injury.

Edwards, Noteboom, Evans, and Hav will all likely have big roles next year. Who knows who will be starters but I see at most two new players who are not currently on the team having major roles. And I don't think there is any way they will have three new starters next year.

I watched Evans play in preseason, he was a catastrophe, not just bad, but scary bad. To assume that he is not a bust when at least half of 3rd round OLs are busts and he hasn’t shown anything good on the field, is extremely wishful thinking. That my friend, is a huge question mark.

I agree that the Rams have had arguably the worst OL in the league. It has to be determined why that is which means it's necessary to distinguish between lack of talent and lack of experience/development.

Given that they inserted a lot of youth, a lack of development is likely a primary cause of the OL struggles.

Continuing to address Evans specifically, it's not a surprise that he was a catastrophe in the preseason. Kromer is on record as stating that he was raw in his development. Drafting a guy who needs development aligns with their stated general strategy of drafting Olinemen and letting them develop for a year.

What would be stupid is to have a plan and strategy of letting them develop - which means they likely won't play much the first year - and then tossing that plan when, gasp...they don't play much the first year.

That's called flip-flopping, indecision, and overreaction. They're too smart for that. They won't do it.

I'll give you this: it's a question mark for the fans but not for the coaches. Besides, when have they ever moved on from a 3rd round pick after one season? Write this down somewhere on your notepad: Evans is in the plans for next season and will have a major role.
