Not a wow pick but I'd have gone with Jake Matthews. At #2 overall it's as important to draft someone with a high floor as much as it is a high ceiling.

The 3 players I really, really wanted out of that draft were Watkins, Mack, and Donald.

I strenuously argued against taking a LOT in that draft but if one had to be taken then Matthews. I was vehemently against GRob. I still don't understand how someone so raw in the primary skillset their job description requires - pass pro - can go 2nd. Waaaayyyy too much projection. So I agree with your statement about a high floor.

But no matter what, the 2014 draft is a wild success. One HOF'er makes it worth it. We'd all be thrilled if they just drafted one of those per year even if everyone else was meh.
