Speed I love stats so I understand where you're coming from but context is everything.
It feels like you're halfway acknowledging that the OL is bad but not accounting for how bad. We're talking about worst OL in the league bad. Where Goff is running for his life on 50% plus of his dropbacks bad. I don't recall seeing an OL that's given up that amount of pressure before. Do you?
You don't think that's gonna make a QB have subpar numbers?
I feel like my assessment that he's doing fairly well given the amount of pressure he's been under is a more accurate and comprehensive assessment than simply looking at some stats and saying he's doing awful.
The reason I say he's doing fairly well is because handling pressure has been his weak area and I've seen growth in that this year. I think if he was under this much pressure last year he would have utterly collapsed. It looks to me like he's improved at reading the field quicker.
So while I'm not excited about how well he's doing I'm not dismayed or resigned given the circumstances. And since we're friends, I can be honest with you. I think that you're seeing him as awful despite the unprecedented amount of pressure because you soured on him after the SB. You're viewing his performance through soured lenses.
