I've had the same thoughts you've had... weaknesses and such. But at the same time:
To make the leap forward that IMO they did in the 2nd half... especially against a quality opponent, impressed me. It's a long season... and it has to be well planned... and I don't see anything yet to indicate they are not, have not, prepared and put into play a season long strategy for player health, steady progress, ever improving cohesiveness. They're sticking to the plan.
You observation projects a stagnancy from Gurley, Goff. I've had the same thoughts.... but Goff took a huge leap forward in that 2nd half... and Gurley, if you look beyond the lack of any long break-away runs, was not used like he was in that 1st game... he's being brought along, and along at the pace they calculated to be best for the both him and the team come playoff time.
Kupp, Woods, Cook made what I think is a very bold statement... I think it's going to very difficult for them 'overplay' Gurley, Brown... our receivers showed, again, IMO, they'll eat you up if you attempt to overstack against the run... IOW, with the OL getting more in sync I believe things are going to open up for them.
And about Gurley... it's not just a physical issue... I don't believe... it's also mental... a regaining of confidence... and I think that's been factored in.
