He was miserable week 1 and good in week 2. So that averages out to a OK to me. I do not like where his internal clock is at right now, and I'm not sure he is seeing everything he should be. Maybe week 1 should be a pass, but he missed a ton of wide open WRs in week 1.
Like I said, plenty of time left in this season, but for a guy making a metric crap ton of money, having a 62.7% comp. percentage, 19th in ypg, 18th in TDs (2) and 24th in passer rating isn't going to make me say he is good. And frankly, I don't care how much money he is making, those aren't great numbers.
I like Goff, i really do. I can point to several posts from my past to prove it, but right now (week 2, way too early) I just don't trust him.
That might be the problem with averages.
He was absolutely rusty in game 1.
By the 2nd half of game 2 he was much more in sync.
So if you just average the numbers for the 2 games together, you miss out on the upward trajectory of de-rusting.
So what would his rankings be if we took only game 2?
67.857% completions, 2 TDs (my one trickery here is counting the rushing TD as a passing TD cause a pass got them to the 1 yard line), 8.5 per attempt, qb rating of 112.6
Completions would rank 13th, TDs would rank 10th, YPA would rank 10th, qb rating would rank 7th.
