....we knew the league would have answers to McVay's offense and in the first half and early into the third quarter the Saints D had added a quick pass rushing front (Davenport, Hendrickson and Jordan wreaked havoc on Havenstein and Co.) and the Rams offense and Goff looked like the Goff/Fisher offense.
Bu then they adjusted, Goff threw some bullets and they won by 18. I know Brees was a huge loss, but they won.
They are 2-0 and won a 1:00 ET game on the opening week and soundly beated NO.
And they have not trailed in the first two games this year.
As frustrated as I get as a fan, I see a team that is mature and knows how to respond and come back or hang on.
This year will be tough coming off a SB appearance, and so far they have done what was necessary to be 2-0.
I like your thinking, md,
Both Panthers and Saints tried their own versions of the Bears, Lions, Patriots D schemes that frustrated the Rams last year. Made for difficult Ram first halves, but once the Rams analyzed and adjusted the second halves of both games were fun to watch.
I expect every opposing team to try their own wrinkles, but I also expect the Rams to counter successfully. And probably more and more quickly as they gain experience doing so.
