You have never seen a team sit all 5 starters and field an entire #2 OL consisting entirely of young unexperienced players against the opposing #1 defense while also shifting players from position to position.

I keep saying it. No OL looks cohesive or effective under those conditions.

What is the upside? Well as I also keep saying, you will only see an OL of 5 non-starters (mostly rookies) in the pre-season. During the season, if any of the second team keepers play, it will be as one guy joining the 4 other starters. That will automatically be more cohesive. And that replacement will be better for having gone through this experience in the pre-season--cause in fact the Rams back-up candidates are getting more reps than any other second team OL in the league.

What's the downside to all that experience? It won't be pretty and it causes doubt among some fans. Not that it won't work. My bet is it absolutely will work as an approach to OL coaching.

I have to add that it's a stretch to doubt Noteboom and Allen just because the Rams second team OL looks (completely unsurprisingly) so raw. The 2 things have nothing to do with one another.
