I have optimism that they'll be better. But when your 'triangle' up the middle (NT, ILBs) are largely unproven and/or rookies you're not going to get rated highly. Littleton is far better in coverage than vs. the run. More stout NT play up front would help him (and Kiser and Matthews) for sure but we have to wait and see with Gaines and Joseph-Day.
That's pretty much how I see it.
I can see someone being skeptical about the newcomers but I have a feeling it will work fine. And everything they're doing indicates that while stopping the run is not their top defensive priority, they are taking very definite steps to be better than they were last year.
