I agree... that those games "overshadow a lot of things". And that applies to a lot of players and it happens pretty often, IMHO.
It seems to me that with Goff many see a lack, thus far, of a 'single shining moment' and thus set aside, or set on the back burner, the steady progress and consistent exhibitions of 'greatness' that I believe Goff executes often - - factors they 'allow', (take into consideration), for others; but for whatever reason seem to ignore with Goff.
Wentz, for example, is usually analyzed, (from what I've read), by his 'body of work' to a much greater extent, MUCH greater, than Goff is.

He's young enough so that there's nothing to balance out that perception. I assume that eventually that will break and JG will have a significant game that alters the perception. But for now we're probably mostly just doomed to grin and bear it.

Funny how soon people forget the Viking and Chief game.....those were on national TV under the lights and he outshined the NFL's golden boy (Mohmes) and the $84M Man in those.....
Too bad the Chiefs didn't beat the Patriots and played the Rams in the Super Bowl.....I think recency bias is what's keeping Goff down right now.
He played great in the NFC championship game in one of the hardest places to win on the road, but all anybody wants to talk about is the noncall
It's not funny, it's normal. That's what people do. Twice the Rams offense came up short in their Last Game. That will stick in peoples' perceptions for a while till he overcomes it on the field. All we can do is not care about their perceptions and just trust in our sense that yes he will eventually do that.
