The guys who would play those 2 extra regular season games aren't the same guys who would play in the 2 preseason games you would eliminate. There is a health risk of guys playing 18 regular season games rather than 16 which you haven't addressed.

I’m not buying the player health argument. These guys are multimillion dollar per year entertainers. So let them entertain if they (and the owners) want to continue to charge insane amounts for tickets, parking, Sunday Ticket, food, beer, souvenirs, etc.
If player health is the primary issue, why not go back to 12 game seasons? With 6-8 exhibition games?
To charge fans regular season game prices for 4 meaningless preseason games is a ripoff, IMO.
Look, the 18 game season is coming and it’s inevitable. It’s just a question of time.
