I think it is deceiving to think that leading the league in passing yards is a feather in a QBs or an offense's cap.
As often as not (probably more often) a QB leads in passing because that team can't run the ball.
In other words, the offense isn't balanced and throwing the ball......a ton..... is the only way that team has to move the ball.
And further, passing a great deal usually happens in the 4th quarter when a team is seriously behind and there's not much other way to make up ground.
Of course this is a generality and it is anecdotal. But that is my observation.
