I've seen enough of him and his upward development in two years to know he's on the edge of becoming a perennial Pro Bowler. It's why I've said I would extend him before Peters (likely for a decent amount less too). And now with Weddle there it can add to his football intelligence and understanding the nuances of the position that much more.
I firmly believe that a big part of the benefit of having Weddle and Matthews there this year is the defense being smarter as a whole, getting caught out of position far less, better disguising coverages, etc.
