Goff had a great year last season and played up to his top pick billing. The problem was that he ended up being a shell of himself in the Super Bowl. Saying he struggled would be an understatement. Everyone pointed to the fact that the Patriots would change their defense after Sean McVay was cut off from Goff’s headset. If Goff wants a new deal — and he will need one eventually — he has to show more growth this season. He has to show the Rams that he can play without McVay as a crutch. It’s time for Goff to prove he’s a star NFL quarterback.

Carson Wentz
Wentz would have made this list before he signed his giant new contract. Wentz would have made the list because he would have to prove that he can stay healthy for a full 16-game season. He hasn’t done so the past two years. Now he has to prove he was worth the investment the Eagles made by signing him to a deal with massive guarantees.

Derek Carr
Carr can’t say he doesn’t have any weapons. He has a ton of weapons. Carr needs to prove he can return to the form he played with two years ago. He needs to not dink and dunk and he needs to stretch the field. He needs to prove to the Raiders that he’s capable of being good enough to be the face of the franchise when the team moves to Las Vegas.
