Last year on paper this defense definitely looked like a top 5... just loaded and we did not get that. Although by seasons end the defense was playing well. All season you complained about that star studded defense.
This year we have way less certainty so yes I’m going to wait until I see the front seven
Making predictions based on a lack of supporting evidence definitely not my style
Mind you I’m not saying the defense will suck but man top 3 to 5? Yesterday in another thread you mentioned that the Rams may have the trio of WRs in the NFL. There is evidence to support that. You can say that based on what you have seen the last two years and their relative youth and growth.
We have no such evidence when making such declarations regarding the Rams defense. But Smh carry on my friend lol
Yeah, last year’s D underachieved overall. On paper they looked like world beaters, but on the field they sometimes looked like Keystone Kops.
Ebu, Suh, Brockers, Peters, and Joyner all fell short of expectations, and Talib gets hurt and missed 8 games.
But, as you say, Wade finally pulled it together and they actually found a way to stop the run and giving up big pass plays.
All of the above 5 Defensive players have either been replaced/upgraded, are now healthy, or have finally been schemed properly (Peters).
Doesn’t take Colombo to predict an improved D this year. I stand by my top 3-5 prediction. We can revisit this in November, if you like.
