I'm not sure the Rams have any control over what surgical procedures the running back needs. Even if they believed he needed surgery it is still up to Gurley. It's his knee and he has control over his medical options. I'm no expert on NFL contracts but I would be shocked if a team could dictate whether or not a player should have a surgery.
