Anyone who is speculating on the condition, shape, capability, or status of Todd Gurley's knee and what will happen in the future without having medically examined him or spoken directly to someone who has examined him is purely talking out of his hind quarters.
Okay but that includes everyone. Those who say there's not an issue are in the same boat. They didn't examine him either.
And on the other side, yes there are reasonable doubts. His knee flared up twice last year, once in game one. He got better after the first time, and then got better after the 2nd time in December too. That means that whatever the condition is, it can flare up and then stabilize. Meanwhile, yes, the plans are in place to reduce his carries.
As it happens we know that a guy with some kind of condition in his knee that can lead to flare-ups like that can still play---for a while anyway. A lot of people forget that Martz sat Faulk in the summer of 2001 because his knee flared up, and after that he had a good season anyway. (Later it took a toll but not in 2001.)
