They overhype the guys who make highlight reel plays, the guys who can go off schedule due to great athleticism. But those guys tend to get beat down quickly, and over time the boring pocket type QBs are the ones who seem to mostly string together the long careers.
You have some like Rodgers who we could say is not a pocket QB. But he scrambles for time to pass moreso than plus yards which is where these guys seem to get dinged up most.
And the irony in all this is that the QB Goff most reminds of is the guy who is unquestionably the greatest of all time. I just find that very funny and I think it demonstrates the media are morons.
