do give a monster deal to a run of the mill QB.
At least half of Dallas fans will go ballistic...Dak is not all that.
Nobody coming up on a contract, should be seeing Russell Wilson money. I guess you can say 33 is less than 35.
If Goff wants $35, franchise tag him.
Paying a QB top dollar because his team made 1 Super Bowl, especially when other players were vital in the journey is not wise IMO.
Ask the Baltimore Ravens.
I like Goff. But...he hasn't shown me the ability to effectively run a 2 minute offense consistently. He doesn't really breed confidence when we are behind late in a game...especially on a consistent basis. The great QBs all do that. Goff is not there yet. And honestly, that national view of Goff is not that he's a top QB...in fact, often he's left out of the top 10. So this isn't some one off criticism of Goff.
If Goff demonstrates that he is a threat consistently in a 2 minute drill and carries this team to some wins this season, then I don't have issue with top dollar. But, if it's throwing for 4,000 yards...nah...that's becoming the norm in the league.
What Goff has done is not the norm, let alone for a 24 year old.
32/12

2% INt
65% comp
5.7% TD
He had the third best statistical year last year. That's just stats.
He led his team to the super bowl as a 24 year old.
He enjoyed the journey and the destination. Nothing is typical about Goff and his journey thus far.
