looking at threads early today on Gurley ...............
I had no idea that he wasn't around the shop
HOWEVER, I clearly remember how poorly Gurley's year went when he had a complacent offseason.
I certainly don't want to watch that again. I was certain that his production would repeat in McVay's inaugural, and, boy howdy, was I wrong.
But, part of his rebirth included a dedication of being in shape, and honing his skills.
With some non-designated issue going on with his body (sic) and what seems quite a bit of travel? Will we see the guy soon? Has he gone back to his life of leisure?
Kiser ought to be a solid. Even if he is, Wade's rotation will pull him in and out. There's a bunch of guy who might jump in and compete for this rotation.
Hager can't be too high on the list to man that spot. Much as like him, they've never circulated him out there with the ones. 'least not much. They cut him. And now he's back. Was that dough? Was that suspicion that Kiser wasn't ramped up to speed? Or just a pure add for the summer and possible special teams specialist in case all these newbies don't stick?
Coach decision to take a flyer on the kid, Allen, might reap some profit. There are plenty of guys with LB on their roster profile. Dakota might be fun to keep an eye on. Hard way back in to the game. The other possible person of interest here could be the recently signed Carraway. He brings an advantage of having played the game, and knows the rigor of what's expected. If he's consistent I imagine he'll be among the last decisions when they do the final cuts.
I like the "drama" that might develop for the linebacking spot. Did Snead and company give Wade plenty of new toys to sort through?
Can only hope
