1. umm..my "empirical evidence" is the same as yours. watching and reading about the rams. againt the differnt is that you apparently what to take a statement on face value rather than using logic to asses its validity.
2. maybe. but once again. people WILL disagree. its inevitable. there will NEVER be 100 percent agreement on 100 percent of cases. NEVER.
3. im not trying to save anybody. i like snead even if he got up on the table and jumped up and down to select GROB. the GROB cases is simply an example. my issue is that you characterize the draft process as a complete consensus on every single pick with absolute certainty leaving no room for alternative explanations based on a couple of coachspeak comments and without having ever stepped foot in the draft room.
Evidence? Completely consistent and highly detailed insider and outsider reports from varying sources describing the proccess in the same way across 8 years. Unless you think all the principles involved said in 2012 "let's all lie about the process for no particular reason and stick to it across the years" and then added McVay to that when he came aboard.
On the other side? Nothing.
Yeah and good organizations have processes for handling disagreements. With the Rams, under both Fisher and McVay, that is hashed out when the personnel people and coaches together rank the board, and that's weeks before the draft. For absolutely certain, this process has been much smoother than for example what we saw with the Jets recently, where the coach and GM were in a power struggle (and power struggles like that are just never kept hidden, they virtually always spill over and people get wind of it).
So yeah
when they pick it's based on consensus. Not entirely clear why you want to dispute that, but relying on vague generalities about human nature doesn't make an argument in this case. Especially since when there IS conflict in Ramsland we hear about it as often as not (like Fisher v. Snead over signing Jenkins).
Wait a sec. Just got to the end of what you wrote. WHY would how I PERSONALLY characterize the draft process be an issue AT ALL? It's certainly not one worth debating. You can think what you want about how I PERSONALLY characterize the draft process. If that's all you're debating then I'm moving on.
I thought you were discussing real issues.
If you do want to discuss real issues leave me as a topic out of it. I would appreciate it. Again, moving on.
