Not sure on Cousins but I am sure that Goff is good enough to at least get to the super bowl as he has obviously done it as a third year pro. I think I'm willing to take my chances that he will continue to develop to the point where he can win one as opposed to desperately searching for the next greatest qb of all time. To add to that it may be I'm projecting my own thoughts here but appears to me that both the coaches and teammates are behind him. In fact I dont think mcvay even takes the job if he doesnt believe in Goff.
That being said 30 million is alot of money and to be quite honest I dont know that any single athlete is "worth" that type of money but unfortunately that is the price you need to pay for a young qb of his caliber and his tract record. And imo you either have a qb or you dont. We saw life without one for 20 years between Warner and Goff. I dont want to go back there. Unless he bottoms out like Bortles or Carr I'm paying Goff the fair market value. Plenty of other teams do it so can we.
In terms of drafting a qb...I realize the rams can go that way but there are 3 big problems. 1. We are good enough now that we are drafting in the latter half making it difficult to get a good one and trading up squandered draft capital. 2. Will the guy you trade up for be better than the guy you have. If hes a slam dunk no one will trade the pick. 3. Waiting 1 or 2 or 3 years who knows how long really is wasting the prime years of guys like AD Gurley and Cooks.

The Redskins are in now at qb. First they spent a ton on cousins anyway to only delay the inevitable. Now they are paying Smith a ton of money and he may never play a down again. That forced them to trade for good ol CK AND spend draft capital on another qb who may or may not be any good. Plus they haven't even sniffed the post season. Doesnt seem like a good way to go to me.
Fair points. But is it much better if you pay $30M+ for a QB that’s really not worth it?
Maybe the jury is still out on this, but is Cousins a good enough QB to win a Super Bowl? If the answer is no, I’d take my chances on not paying the QB and trying to find one in the draft.
Washington’s problem may be that they keep trying to go the vet QB route. Bite bullet and draft one. And suck for a year if necessary.
