its weird on this board
people have such clarity about other QBs. This QB sucks that QB sucks but some can't put it together that Goff played very poorly against very good teams in the Bears and Eagles, a bad team in the Lions, played below average against the Cowboys in a game that things should have been easy for him and he had a Bears repeat performance in the SB against the Pats. He played well against the Saints. The Rams don't win that game without Goff's play
Anyhow like you said looked bad the second half of the season. After the Chargers, Vikings and Chiefs games (all at home by the way hmmmm) he was an MVP candidate... then after the bye he was a complete mess.
And he looked bad too. Very clumsy, almost lost. This is what is causing people to question him
Last year I expected Goff to play very well. I thought it would be a natural progression for him. This year I am far less bullish because I just don't like how completely helpless and over matched he looked against good football teams down the stretch.
We will see what McVay comes up with and if Goff can continue to mature but I am concerned about what I saw last year and I fear he is limited and indeed a system QB.
I guess we will see... oh and some of you who are now angry because I just typed what I did... please stop. Its an opinion. No need to get sensitive or angry.
