We just don't know how bad. The Rams know a lot more than they are telling us and the hope is its just the beginning stages. Afterall, they gave him the big contract extension just a few months before learning of the problem.
Odds are they can manage it and get few more years out of him. But that means managing his workload and Gurley's workhorse days are over.
Well I guess I'm way more concerned than you. I suspect he will never be the same. "Managed" or not. I mean, they 'managed' him at the end of last year, and he still disappeared in the Super Bowl. Hope I'm wrong, but i dont expect him to be explosive anymore.

I don't think you can say giving him a few weeks off after he was hurting so badly that we should have expected him to be explosive. Actually, in my eyes he wasn't as explosive at all last year as he was the year before. My guess is that after the Raiders game in week 1, he was hurt and it affected his explosiveness all year. Gurley didn't have a single run or screen pass over 39 yards all season. The guy was playing hurt and was dealing with it until he broke down against the Eagles.
But you may be right, he may be damaged to the point of never being as explosive as he was early on. We will find out in September. Until then, we are all just guessing.
