He played OC his first year then 3 years of OT. His footwork could be an issue for a RT, but inside, he moves well enough to be a OG or OC. I think he can work in the Rams scheme, but a power run offense would get better use out of him.
A couple of things to know about Risner:
1. He is nasty. he wants to destroy you and stops only at the whistle so he can go do it again.
2. He's smart, you can tell by how he identifies the biggest threat and blocks them.
3. He is going to be 24 in July, so you better be prepared to start him almost right way.
4. His hands are a weapons for sure, add in his heavy anchor, if he stays low, you are finished.
The Rams have never made power and attitude a priority in looking for OL, so he would be a change from the norm. But maybe after watching Blythe and Sully get their butts kicked all game in the SB, McVay wants to add some power and nastiness to the OL. Risner will beat your a**, take your lunch, take your lunch money and then spend 2 minutes talking trash about it. he'd be an attitude changer on that line.
