you don't need to go far to see how Ferrell and Wilkins did without Lawrence in the middle. Alabama NCG no Dexter, Ferrell and Wilkins had themselves a game.
That said, Lawrence is a legit NT on 1st and 2nd downs. He is out of the lineup on anything 3rd and long. Rams will bring in a pass rusher to replace him, so how exactly is Lawrence helping the Rams biggest need on defense, a pass rush? He just doesn't. Now if the Rams ran a 2 gap 34 like say the Chargers, he makes a ton of sense. He occupies blockers and allows others to make plays. The Rams all take a gap and go, you need penetration to force teams to double you in their defense. Suh coasted and did nothing all season, Brockers, well Brockers just isn't really suited for a 34 DE.

Thats fine, I don't like him either. lol, (I also could list off, IDK, maybe 5 or 6 guys I'd rather see as the pick then Tillery personally) But Tillery does make a ton of sense as a 1 gap penetrating IDL that gets to the QB. That said, so does Jeffery Simmons, who I'd love to see as the pick.
