Brilliant
I see this a great year if it goes down like this.
I could be ultra satisfied, with your scenario, if they did swap for Winovich, and then alternated for Saunders. I'd take a draft of Winovich and Saunders instead of Tillery and Polite. You are gaining more run defense and less pass rush IMO in that swap. But I also personally like those prospects more then Tillery and Polite.
Most of all this notion of yours
what I want to see happen - a trade down into the 2nd and gaining a 3rd or 4th, most likely a 4th or a swapping of thirds and a later round pick. Then go get Chase Winovich. Visions of Kevin Greene dance thru my head.
If we could swap for an earlier 3rd round choice after a trade, and acquire another pick in the 4th? I'd be thrilled. Last year Baltimore moved from 53 to 32 to get Lamar Jackson. They got 32 and 132 (4th) and gave up 52 (2nd) 125 (4th) and a 2019 2nd. And the Titans traded for 41 and gave up 57 and 89. So its possible to get a 2nd and 3rd out of trading back. But you will have to move.
AND, with that earlier pick in the 3rd, go grab the best of the safeties on the board. Just my thinking. Unless they grab that S in the 2nd, but yeah, go get Hooker
The bad thinking on my part is that we wouldn't end up with depth for the OL until the 4th round. unless the Rams take IOL with 2 of their first 3 picks, they wouldn't have either.
Thus
Winovich
Safety, TBD I know Alyo really likes Hooker, but the team shows no real contact. And the kid's a junior.
Saunders
Best OL available in Zone Scheme.
Could easily swap right back to layout, and end up with either Davis or McGovern. both work real well for me
I am leaning towards Tavai over Takitaki, but the latter has a much better range. I just like guys with range in todays NFL
I still have a couple of guys in my wheelhouse I'd like to see on the club
K. White RB from FAU, but you couldn't be more on target if they snap up Bryce Love. So many good backs later on, it'll be hard to miss. but White solves the kick returner issue. As would Bruce Anderson
3 USC guys in Marshall, Gustin, and Cam Smith. Gustin could be a steal. Could easily say that about Smith, too, but Gustin had serious impact when healthy. I'd take any of those guys on day 3. Love Smith, wish Gustin offered more in the form of a pass rush and Marshall seemed to put it all together this year. i'd also take a long look at Edoga if he lasts til round 4. Upside guy.
OK. I'm geeked for the draft.
